The Jet2.com and Jet2holidays team at Newcastle International Airport have purchased and donated a huge range of gifts and toys to Newcastle City Council’s Children Social Care Department, helping to share the joy of Christmas this festive season.
The team have come together to donate over 60 gift bags to the department, in addition to a huge range of essential items such as food, toiletries, food vouchers and baby supplies.
Jet2’s Newcastle International Airport team took the decision to support the Children Social Care department this Christmas and took it upon themselves to personally buy a range of presents such as toys, games, sweets, books, make-up, clothes and craft sets to include in the gift bags.
They then headed to the Department’s offices in Byker to drop off the gifts, which will be allocated to specific children aged between one and 16 across the region.
The team were led by Claire Jolly (pictured in red jumper, wearing Santa hat) and Lisa Horrocks, who are both Jet2.com and Jet2holidays Customer Helper Supervisors at Newcastle International Airport. In total, approximately 80 Jet2 colleagues were involved in the donation.
Claire Jolly, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays Customer Helper Supervisor said: "The entire team really wanted to support those in need within our local community this Christmas, and I am so proud of how we have all come together to get behind this initiative. Christmas should be a time of giving and we’ve been absolutely overwhelmed with the generosity from our colleagues. Delivering the gifts to the Children’s Social Care Department was such a special moment, and we sincerely hope they make a difference to children this Christmas.”
