Jet2 has marked the first anniversary of operating award-winning flights and holidays from Bournemouth Airport, celebrating the occasion with colleagues and customers.

One year on since commencing operations at the airport base, the award-winning airline and tour operator hosted a range of celebrations, including surprising one lucky customer at random with a pair of return flights from the airport base while checking in this morning.

The birthday surprises go hand-in-hand with Jet2’s customer-first approach which has seen the companies delight customers since launching from Bournemouth Airport, enabling the company to enjoy a first year of success and growth.

With more new and existing holidaymakers choosing to fly with the UK’s favourite airline and tour operator from Bournemouth AirportJet2 is gearing up for an expanded second summer of flying, with its famously friendly VIP customer service at the heart of its operations.

For Summer 2026, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’ expanded programme features two brand-new routes from Bournemouth Airport (Kos and Reykjavik) to meet the continued demand from holidaymakers and independent travel agents across the South coast and surrounding areas.

This demand means that Jet2 will increase capacity at Bournemouth Airport by 5% this summer compared to last summer, with two based aircraft taking customers on their well-deserved holidays.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “Our first year of operations at Bournemouth Airport has surpassed all expectations, with the reaction from customers and independent travel agents being nothing short of phenomenal. Our award-winning customer service has had an enormous impact on customers, and the response has enabled us to put more seats and destinations on sale, giving local holidaymakers even more choice.”

He added: “It was fantastic to be able to celebrate our first anniversary with our brilliant colleagues and customers, and we are looking ahead with enormous confidence at Bournemouth Airport. Our famously friendly Red Team continue to deliver the best service in the industry, and I know they are looking forward to another brilliant summer taking customers away on their well-deserved holidays.”

Steve Gill, Managing Director at Bournemouth Airport, said: “Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’ arrival at Bournemouth Airport has been transformational. Their first summer of operations contributed significantly to our best ever summer last year, and with capacity increasing and new routes launching, 2026 is shaping up to be another great year for the airport. We are proud of the partnership we have built with Jet2 and look forward to continuing this success together, meeting demand from passengers across the region for award-winning flights and holidays."
