Jet2holidaysAppoint an Apprentice scheme will be bigger and better than ever this year, as the UK’s largest tour operator rolls out the initiative for a third year and commits to £1.4 million of apprenticeship funding.

Since launching in 2023, Jet2holidays has received a phenomenal response to the scheme that enables charity and independent travel agent partners, as well as suppliers, to recruit dedicated apprentices into their businesses and develop new and existing talent.

Now, as the scheme enters its third year, the tour operator has increased its total apprenticeship funding for 2025/26 and committed to its biggest levy share fund ever of £1.4 million for the financial year.

Following a huge response from partners in the first year of the scheme, the tour operator approved apprenticeship levy funds totalling almost £500,000 to 50 different companies, seeing them recruit 72 new apprentices in total. The second year saw Jet2holidays provide £1.2 million of apprenticeship funding – more than double the first year’s amount.

Earlier this year, Jet2 committed to sharing £120,000 of apprenticeship funding with charity partner, NSPCC, to help it develop a highly skilled workforce. The funding allowed ten members of NSPCC staff from across England to be able to complete a Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship, equipping them with key skills such as how to understand the power of data, how to better use data in communications and analysis, and problem solving and innovation.

Kirsty Lawson, Associate Head of Corporate Partnerships at the NSPCC, said: “We would love to thank everyone at Jet2 who helped make this incredibly generous donation happen. The apprenticeships will give people from across the NSPCC some vitally useful insight into how we can use the data we have to improve our services and better help children and young people here in the North and across the UK.”

Miriam D’souli, HR Director at Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “The response following the launch of our Appoint an Apprentice scheme three years ago has been truly remarkable, and we have received some fantastic feedback. We are delighted to be rolling out the scheme for a third year and to be pledging our biggest level of funding ever, so that we can support even more partners to recruit the next generation of talent. We recognise that apprentices are integral to the future growth and success of our own business, as well as the wider industry, and it is fantastic to be working with even more partners and helping them to thrive.”
