Community, Announcements

Neil Allard, from East Sussex, has successfully ‘Bid on a Break’ with Jet2holidays and secured a seven-night holiday to Paphos in Cyprus for just £1.40.

After placing his bid of £1.40, through the tour operator’s ‘Bid for a Break’ campaign, Neil was told that he had entered the lowest unique bid and purchased a seven-night stay at the Villa Wisteria Paphos in Cyprus, for six people for that same price.

Jet2holidays’ Bid for a Break campaign offers holidaymakers the opportunity to bid for their next holiday each week on the tour operator’s mobile app. Neil is the 27th holidaymaker to have successfully ‘Bid on a Break’ with Jet2holidays this year and secure a holiday for the same price as their lowest bid. Holidaymakers have successfully bid on and secured getaways with Jet2holidays to the Canary Islands, Greece, Cyprus, Spain, the Algarve, and Turkey. With a new holiday available to bid on each week, it gives holidaymakers lots of opportunity to successfully bid on a break. To get involved, all customers need to do is download the Jet2 mobile app on the App Store or Google Play, add in their bid to the nearest pence and then cross their fingers. If they are the only user to bid that amount and that amount is the lowest, they will buy the holiday for that price. Bids open at 9.00am on a Monday and can be placed until midday on the Thursday, before the lowest unique bid is announced on the same day.

Neil said: “I entered Bid for a Break as I’ve flown with Jet2.com a couple of times and receive their regular emails about competitions. I saw the Bid for a Break competition and thought it is simple to enter and there is a chance of winning a fantastic holiday - so why not! I’ve entered the competition a couple of times before with bids of £25 and £19 but didn’t win. I thought surely nobody would go as low as £1.40, so I decided to try that, and to my surprise it was a winning bid. We’re all very excited about going to Cyprus!”

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “We have had an incredible response to our Bid for a Break initiative, and we’re thrilled to be able to help so many holidaymakers enjoy a well-deserved getaway to some incredible destinations for as little as a few pence. We’d like to send a huge congratulations to Neil for successfully bidding on a holiday with Jet2holidays and hope he has a wonderful time in Cyprus. We have some fantastic holidays up for grabs each week, so make sure you get involved and have a bid in mind for next week’s holiday.”

The Jet2 mobile app can be downloaded for free from the App Store or on Google Play. It can be used to search, book, and manage ATOL-protected holidays and award-winning flights in one handy place.
