Nice

Overview

With sunny streets, a dreamy seafront promenade and a buzzing café culture, it’s no wonder pastel-perfect Nice is such a popular spot for a city break. When you add to that a picturesque port, enchanting Old Town, and the glitz of Cannes and Monaco nearby, you’ve got all the boxes ticked for a chic Cote d’Azur escape…

Nice one!

Nice’s events calendar is bursting at the seams with everything from sporty events to music festivals. In mid-July, Nice Jazz Festival takes place within dreamy flower-filled gardens, with some rock, pop and hip-hop added in too. Make sure you buy your tickets in advance!

A work of art

If you fancy a bit of culture, Nice has some great museums. Art afficionados in particular will be spoilt for choice with the Musée National Message Biblique Marc-Chagall, and the marble building housing the Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain. There’s the Musée Matisse too, showcasing works from the famous French artist.

Let’s talk shop

Visit the Vieux Nice (Old Town) to see the colourful flower and fruit market held daily in the Place Rossetti. Nice is also fantastic for fashion, whether it's designer brands down Rue Paradis or high-street heroes on the main shopping street, Avenue Jean Medecin.
