Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have added more Autumn flights and holidays to Madeira and Malta in response to very strong demand from customers and independent travel agents.

With both islands on the UK Government’s Green List, meaning quarantine-free travel, the leading leisure airline and tour operator have seen customers flocking to book flights and holidays throughout the summer and into Autumn.

In response, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have added more flights to Madeira in September and October from Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds Bradford Airports. The additional flights are as follows:

  • Birmingham – additional Friday services now departing throughout September and October, meaning two weekly services.
  • Manchester – additional Saturday services now departing throughout September and October, meaning three weekly services.
  • Leeds Bradford – introduction of a new Friday service throughout September and October meaning two weekly services.

These flights are in addition to an existing programme of weekly services from Bristol, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle Airports, as well as twice-weekly services from London Stansted Airport. This programme gives customers and independent travel agents a fantastic choice of 14 weekly services to Madeira during Autumn.

With more customers looking to enjoy an Autumn break in Malta, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have also added more September capacity from Manchester and London Stansted Airports. The additional flights are:

  • Manchester - additional Saturday services now departing throughout September, meaning four weekly services.
  • London Stansted – Tuesday and Saturday services now departing throughout September meaning two weekly services.

With weekly services from Glasgow and twice-weekly services from Birmingham, Newcastle and Leeds Bradford Airports this means Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will be providing customers and independent travel agents with a fantastic choice and flexibility of services to Malta.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “Madeira and Malta are seeing very strong demand, thanks to a combination of their Green List status and the fact they are fantastic destinations for holidaymakers to enjoy. It is clear that Autumn breaks are in demand this year, so we have responded to that trend by giving customers and independent travel agents even more choice in September and October. With so many flights to choose from, on top of our award-winning service, we know that these additional flights will sell very well and very quickly.”

Nuno Vale, Executive Director of Madeira Promotion Bureau said: “We are delighted to see how the British market is responding to Madeira. The increase in capacity from Jet2.com and Jet2holidays is an answer to the strong demand and makes us very excited for the near future. We are proud of what we have accomplished so far, keeping the destination safe and providing people with a true holiday experience. After over a year in a pandemic, we just want people to experience Madeira fully. Madeira is a perfect post-pandemic holiday retreat with a fantastic climate all-year round, lush green nature overlooking a warm blue ocean and full of natural life. All of this is complemented with great lifestyle facilities and welcoming local people.”

Johann Buttigieg, CEO of the Malta Tourism Authority said: “This decision continues to consolidate Malta's positive relationship with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, who are a key airline and tour operator when it comes to tourism growth and development within Malta's largest tourism market, the UK.”
