Three new destinations and a bumper Summer 19 from London Stansted

Holidaymakers looking to book for Summer 19 from London Stansted Airport have a ‘hol’ lot of sunshine to choose from, including THREE BRAND NEW DESTINATIONS - Bourgas (Bulgaria), Chania (Crete) and Izmir (Turkey).
Our Summer 19 programme from London Stansted has gone on sale today, and it’s an absolute scorcher with 36 fantastic sun and city destinations on offer.
The programme means that over 1.7 million seats are on sale, representing an 18% capacity increase on Summer 18 and a doubling of capacity since our first summer of operation at the base in 2017. This makes London Stansted our third biggest base, in just our third summer of operations.
From May 2019, we will operate two weekly flights (Monday and Thursday) to Bourgas (Bulgaria), meaning over 16,000 seats. The destination offers great value for money as well as miles of golden sands along the Black Sea. What’s more, with a range of 2-5 star hotels on sale, holidaymakers can soak up the Balkan sun in resorts such as Sunny Beach, Nessebar, Obzor and St Vlas.
Our second new destination for Summer 19 from London Stansted is Chania (Crete). In total there are almost 20,000 seats on sale to our second destination in Crete, which comes in addition to Heraklion. This new route, which operates every Tuesday and Friday, gives holidaymakers access to the northwest coast of Crete, opening up blue flag beaches and historic sights in resorts such as Rethymnon, Aghia Marina, Chania Town, Kalyves, Stalos and Kolymbari.
The third brand new destination for Summer 19 from London Stansted is Izmir (Turkey), which has been added in response to the huge demand for great value package holidays to Turkey. With over 20,000 seats and services every Monday and Thursday, holidaymakers have plenty of choice when it comes to accessing popular family friendly resorts on the west coast of Turkey such as Kusadasi, Cesme, Ozdere and Seferihisar. This brand new Turkish destination is expected to be extremely popular with holidaymakers looking for exceptional weather, great value, and fabulous cuisine with beautiful beaches and the Dilek National Park within easy reach.
Holidaymakers can also look forward to more flights and holidays to some of their favourite destinations such as Spain, Portugal, Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey and Croatia. The additional flights and holidays are as follows:
- Canary Islands – up to 25 weekly services to the Canaries meaning over 300,000 seats on to Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote. This includes a daily service to Lanzarote and ten weekly services to Tenerife
- Alicante – now 11 services every week, including twice daily services on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
- Malaga – a 10% capacity increase thanks to daily services and larger aircraft
- Faro – more capacity, choice and flexibility with up to 11 weekly services during the peak summer season
- Madeira – the addition of Sunday services for Summer 19 means three weekly flights on this exclusive route from London Stansted
- Majorca – longer season length and more services, including two flights every day during the peak holiday season to the UK’s most popular holiday destination
- Menorca – two additional services every week means daily flights providing more choice and flexibility for holidaymakers
- Ibiza – now eight flights every week thanks to a double service on Thursdays
- Antalya – capacity growth of more than 15% with six flights every week in the peak season and a great choice of weekday and weekend departures in the early season from April
- Dalaman – capacity almost doubled, with services every day apart from Sundays from May right through to November
- Greece – as well as brand new Chania (Crete), additional services and longer seasons means more choice and flexibility to EIGHT GREEK DESTINATIONS from London Stansted: Halkidiki, Corfu, Kefalonia, Crete (Heraklion), Kos, Rhodes and Zante
- Cyprus – additional services means six flights a week to both Larnaca and Paphos
- Croatia – extended season means a 23% capacity increase to Dubrovnik (five weekly services), as well longer season and twice weekly services to both Pula and Split
Today’s announcement comes in response to continued demand for great value package holidays from London Stansted Airport. With longer seasons and more services, customers are even more spoilt for choice when it comes to where and when they would like to getaway, with more flexible durations available.
We will also increase the number of Boeing 737-800 aircraft in operation at London Stansted Airport to support our expanded summer programme, and new jobs will also be created in Cabin Crew, Flight Deck and Ground Operations positions at the base.
