Jet2.com and Jet2holidays enjoyed a triumphant evening at yesterday’s Travel Weekly Globe Awards, picking up four prestigious national accolades which were voted for by both customers and the travel industry.
Jet2holidays won the award for Best Short Haul Operator for the second year running, with agents and the travel industry voting for us ahead of a field which included all the major tour operators.
In addition to the travel industry recognising us in this category, customers also crowned Jet2holidays as the winner of the coveted Favourite Short Haul Operator award.
Capping off a dominant evening, the travel industry also recognised our partnership approach to working with independent travel agents, by voting Jet2holidays as Best Trade Friendly Brand. This recognises our 16-strong trade team and our dedicated approach to working with independent travel agents to help them grow their businesses.
As well as this triple success, Jet2.com continued its award-winning streak, and was voted Best Short Haul Airline by UK travel agents for the fifth time in just seven years, beating a number of other well-known airlines to the coveted prize.
The Travel Weekly Globe Awards are seen as one of the industry’s leading awards ceremonies, recognising and celebrating the very best in travel.
The four high profile accolades kick the New Year off in some style, and come back on the back of successful 2017 which saw Jet2.com and Jet2holidays win a whole host of awards and accolades.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: "2017 is a tough act to follow for Jet2.com and Jet2holidays in terms of winning industry accolades and awards, so scooping four prestigious prizes in one evening is a fantastic way to kick off a new year. This is resounding recognition from the travel industry and from customers alike, and goes to show that our tireless work on providing the very best product and service is working. The Globes are a key event in the travel industry calendar so we are absolutely delighted to have picked up these four prestigious awards.”
