Jet2holidays is today launching the Ultimate School Trip, giving schools across the UK a chance to win a place for an entire class to visit Sol Katmandu Park & Resort in Majorca where they will take part in fun educational workshops with celebrity hosts, including Dick and Dom.
In total, nine classes of 9-13 year olds and their teachers will spend a long weekend (Friday 20th April – Sunday 22nd April 2018) on this once-in-a-lifetime trip. The workshops will focus on science, history, drama and crafts, as well as giving pupils all the excitement you would expect from a school trip overseas.
In addition to an educational trip of a lifetime, winning classes will get to experience a range of one-off memories such as VIP send offs at the airport, a welcome dinner with celebrities, and the ultimate school disco and show.
The competition was launched at Wimbledon Chase Primary School by Kids TV presenters, Dick and Dom, who will host one of the workshops. The duo will be on the road with Jet2holidays over the next fortnight, as we announce the trip through a series of roadshows in our nine bases across the UK.
To enter, pupils are challenged to jet-power their imagination and produce their own promotional piece for Sol Katmandu Park & Resort, whether that be a poster, poem, song or video.
The judges, including Dick and Dom, will create a shortlist of five schools in each of Jet2holidays’ nine airport regions, which will then go to a public vote, with the final nine class winners announced on Tuesday 13th March. All 45 shortlisted schools will receive £1,000 worth of school equipment vouchers. For more details and to enter, visit ultimateschooltrip.jet2holidays.com/. Entries must be submitted by Wednesday 28th February 2018.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “We are very excited to launch the Ultimate School Trip today. School trips provide many of our best school memories and create some of the most valuable and lasting educational experiences. They give children the opportunity to step out of the classroom and experience History, Geography, Science, and the Arts in amazing new locations. This once-in-a-lifetime trip to Sol Katmandu Park & Resort certainly does that and we are looking forward to seeing all the entries.”
Mrs Wendy Hughes, Headteacher of All Saints Catholic Primary School in Golborne near Warrington where the Ultimate School Trip roadshow will be visiting said: “We’re very excited that the Ultimate School Trip roadshow is coming to All Saints Catholic Primary School. School trips are a great way to bring a child’s imagination to life for a variety of subjects and we often find pupils really engaging with topics when learning outside the classroom. The competition is a great opportunity to bring our pupils creative imaginations to life and we’d encourage all other schools to get involved and enter the competition.”
To promote the competition, Jet2holidays will be heading on a roadshow across the UK in November and could be coming to a school near you.
