Announcements

Last week we showed how Britons are taking ‘Blue Monday’ in their stride by taking steps to have a happy and action-packed 2017. This includes a rush of people making holiday bookings, and as expected we saw record numbers over the weekend and into today on the back of this trend.

With so many people looking to get away, alongside so much choice, Zoe Towers, Head of Product at Jet2holidays has put together a helpful list of tips for you to consider before you book.

1. Make sure that the holiday company you choose has ATOL protection.

2. Consider your budget carefully. A package holiday might work best as it takes out the extras once you’re in resort.

3. Book early, the 5* star late deal is a bit of a travel myth – the most popular destinations, hotels and rooms sell out early.

4. Cash strapped after Christmas? Take advantage of low deposit schemes (such as Jet2holidays’ £60 per person deposit) and companies that offer the chance to pay off bit by bit.

5. Check for credit card fees before you book. Some companies will charge you extra for booking, whereas Jet2holidays won’t.

6. Searching on the internet can be incredibly daunting and overwhelming. Speak to travel experts such as a tour operator call centre or travel agents who have years of experience and visits under their belts – at Jet2holidays you can call us for free.

7. Do you need to travel in July and August? It is extremely busy as all of Europe is on holiday – many European beach resorts offer long summer seasons starting in April running through to mid-November. The weather is still glorious and airports, resorts and hotels are much calmer.

8. Short of time? You can still get away as Jet2holidays offers sunshine and city breaks (through Jet2CityBreaks) from two nights to as long as you want!
