Christmas Market snapshot:

Copenhagen - Enjoy the traditional celebrations in Denmark’s bustling capital. Hear sleigh bells ring on a horse-drawn carriage ride across the countryside, skate around the ice rink, and get ready for rosy cheeks as you sample a glass of hot spiced wine, ‘gløgg’. Set in the beautiful Tivoli Gardens, the atmospheric Danish Christmas Markets give the visitor an insight into how Christmas is celebrated in Denmark and makes Christmas shopping a memorable experience.

Berlin – It may be a modern metropolis and the culture-packed capital of Germany, but Berlin still makes space for a sparkling season of traditional celebrations. With around 60 Christmas markets to wander round and enjoy, Berlin shines in a festive blaze of lights every year in the period before Christmas. Located on grand boulevards, squares, small side streets and museums, Berlin’s Christmas markets enchant with their magic and charm.

Vienna – Christmas Markets are a long-established Austrian tradition and nowhere is this typified as strongly as the stunning city of Vienna. High spires and Gothic buildings make Vienna the perfect setting for a memorable Christmas. Even better, there are more than 20 markets in the city, making it ideal for seeking out authentic Austrian gifts and enjoying warming food during this most magical of seasons.

Munich – An idyllic setting for getting into the festive spirit, you’ll find Christmas markets dotted all over the charming city of Munich. The cosmopolitan capital of Bavaria turns into an idyllic winter wonderland during the festive season, thanks to a wealth of wonderful Christmas markets, with the most oldest and most famous being the traditional market at Marienplatz outside the city's Town Hall.
