Greg Mulholland MP met with Phil Ward, managing director of airline Jet2.com, this week to give his backing to the company’s Onboard Together campaign.
The leading leisure airline, which operates flights from seven UK airports including Leeds Bradford International Airport in Mr Mulholland’s constituency, began the campaign to highlight steps passengers could take to ensure more enjoyable and comfortable flights for all onboard.
Jet2.com has taken a proactive stance in tackling the growing industry-wide problem of disruptive behaviour associated with air travel. It involves educating passengers, particularly on the affects of excessive alcohol consumption, and empowering crew to take whatever action necessary to stamp out offensive behaviour.
Commenting on his meeting with Phil Ward, Greg Mulholland said:
“I had a very useful meeting with Phil to find out more about Jet2.com’s Onboard Together campaign. None of us want a disruptive flight and the campaign highlights the steps that can be taken to ensure everyone has an enjoyable journey. The campaign certainly has my support and well done to Jet2.com for the priority they clearly place on passenger and crew welfare.”
Phil Ward added:
“As a family friendly airline we are determined to stamp out disruptive passenger behaviour and not let a small minority of people spoil the flight experience for the majority of our well behaved passengers. We are actively consulting with government bodies and MPs to support the rollout of our Onboard Together. We are also working with the industry to create a consistent, cross-industry campaign to educate and inform passengers and help improve behaviour.”
