Jet2.com and Jet2holidays recently helped one husband-to-be make an unforgettable wedding proposal at 37,000 feet! Terry Longbottom from Meltham, Holmfirth, was travelling from Leeds Bradford Airport to Lanzarote on his first Jet2holidays package break with the intention of getting down on one knee in the Canary Islands.

However, after experiencing Jet2.com’s “amazing” customer service and finding that “nothing was too much trouble,” Terry changed his plans and asked cabin crew whether they could arrange for him to pop the question on-board.

“The response I got was absolutely superb, the stewardess was more excited than I was,” said Terry, “We agreed that I would tell Vicki that I had asked to visit the flight deck and once there with Vicki’ s twin girls Imogen and Lauren, I would go down on one knee, propose and produce the engagement ring I had secretly sneaked on the plane without my girlfriend Vicki noticing.”

Luckily for Terry, Vicki accepted his proposal, which was announced over the intercom to the delight of their fellow passengers.

The happy couple enjoyed a complimentary bottle of champagne and were personally congratulated by the captain, who invited them into the flight deck for some extra special engagement photos.

“We cannot thank the team of cabin crew enough for the enthusiasm, help and professionalism they demonstrated on that outward flight to make our special moment even more magical,” added Terry.

“We will definitely book with Jet2 again we were so impressed.”

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays would like to congratulate Terry and Vicki on their engagement and wish them the very best for the wedding.
