- Elderly Leeds pair arrested from Jet2.com flight and banned for life
- Airline continues Onboard Together campaign to stamp out industry wide surge of disruptive flyers

Leading leisure airline, Jet2.com, is continuing its campaign to stamp out the offensive customer behaviour which is currently blighting the airline industry, with two passengers being arrested for disruptive and abusive conduct towards its cabin crew on the Lanzarote to Leeds Bradford flight on Sunday evening (19th July).

Police were called to the aircraft as it landed to deal with a Leeds female aged 56 and male aged 63. They reportedly ignored safety instructions, used aggressive and threatening language towards cabin crew and inappropriately touched one female crew member. The pair even started arguing between themselves which meant they had to be taken to the local police station in separate police vehicles.

The disruptive duo were formally charged by West Yorkshire police who were called to the aircraft and given a lifetime ban by Jet2.com.

Phil Ward, managing director of Jet2.com, said: “This latest saga is another example of why we are determined to stamp out problem behaviour in the air through our Onboard Together programme. We know that incidents like this are affecting many UK airlines. It’s only by taking a proactive stance together as an industry that we will make progress.

“This is vital not just to protect the vast majority of our perfectly behaved customers, but also to look after our own team members. A large proportion of this pair’s despicable verbal abuse was personal attacks on one particular crew member and this disrespectful behaviour is simply unacceptable. We will always do everything we can to protect both our passengers and our employees.”
