Finding cheap flights to Barcelona with Jet2.com is always a smart move, as thousands of people find out each year, but the city is also leading a charge to be one of the world's smartest cities when it comes to technological advances.
While technology and mobile connectivity is being embraced by most of the major metropolises of the world, the Catalan capital is leading the way. The city’s council recently announced its intention to introduce smart tech across the region.
From introducing more efficient bus routes to using sensor driven street lighting, the council is looking to make the city a cutting edge place to visit. Contact payment schemes will also make travelling in and enjoying the city's sights and amenities a lot easier, but the more traditional attractions are still a huge draw.
Different Places to Visit
Las Ramblas is one area that is always popular and constantly delivers breathtaking sights and sounds. With wonderful restaurants and tapas bars, great architecture and a fantastic atmosphere, it is near the top of most visitors’ priority lists.
Much the same can be said of Gracia. A special place all of its own kind in the city, the trendy locals are to be found here.
For something altogether a little more relaxing, El Born is best known for being home to the city's Picasso Museum. Here too, though, are a number of delightful pavement cafes, offering an intimacy matched only by the exclusive boutiques that jostle for position.
All in, the city is both a charming and lively place to be. Today, it is still a smart choice for a holiday too, with so many cheap flights to Barcelona on offer.
