According to the Turkish Association of Travel Agents (TURSAB), the tourism sector in Turkey is up by 500 million Liras due to the end of Ramadan holiday, Eid al-Fitr. For those booking cheap flights to Dalaman with Jet2.com, this is beneficial because the greater number of people purchasing tours and hotel rooms has led to very little increase in prices for tourists.
Ramadan is the holy month of fasting which Muslims observe annually, and Eid al-Fitr marks the end of this with a three day holiday. It was during this holiday that many people took breaks along the coast of Turkey. This is good news for tourists booking cheap flights to Marmaris and other areas in Turkey, because it has received a considerable boost this year.
Breaking Records
It was also reported that many of the tours and other popular tourist offerings in Turkey proved hugely popular, and the chairman of the TURSAB says the average age of the hotels in Turkey is six to seven years – much different to its rival European tourist countries.
As well as considerable interest in tourist locations within Turkey, the main airports have recently broken records in the number of passengers handled during the religious holiday. Buses also received a lot of passengers, and ferries were used to meet the high demand of customers. For those booking cheap flights to Dalaman this year, it is encouraging to know that the country is capable of catering for all of its tourists.
