Announcements

Holidaymakers will find a number of opportunities to fuel their desire for wandering the globe this summer, with a jam-packed calendar of arts and sporting events across Europe. Visitors to Spain in particular are in for a real treat this year, so it might be worth keeping an eye out for cheap flights to Barcelona.

Sports fans can get their fix of adrenaline and sunshine with edge-of-your-seat tennis action at the Madrid Open in May. With big names like Rafael Nadal, Andre Agassi and Andy Murray amongst former winners at the tournament, this year's event promises to be bigger and better than ever. The tournament runs from May 3 – 12, 2013.

Music in Spain

Elsewhere in Spain, Barcelona's Sonar Festival is one of the biggest events in the global dance music calendar. This year sees the festival celebrate its 20th birthday, and helping the event to celebrate this milestone will be headliners Kraftwerk. In-keeping with their tag of pioneers of electronic music, the act says its performance will take place 'in 3D'.

Art and Culture in Greece and Croatia

There are a range of arts festivals, music concerts and sporting events taking place across Europe this summer, from the six-week long Dubrovnik Summer Festival of highbrow culture, to art and theatre festivals in Greece.

There is currently a real appetite for culture and sporting events from travellers and tourists, and countries are recognising this and responding to the increase in demand for these types of events. Cheap flights to the Greek Islands, Barcelona, Croatia and other popular European destinations from Jet2.com make it easy and economical to embark on an adventure this summer.
