The UK’s first ever Party Plane has taken to the skies with Jet2.com whisking its national winner, Paul Carroll, away to Lanzarote for a VIP weekend to remember.
Blackpool man and drag artist, Paul, won the keys to his very own private Jet2.com plane after entering the leading leisure airline’s nationwide competition, searching for the most imaginative theme for the ultimate flight of fancy. His ‘Drag and Bling Party’ took top spot in a hotly contested public vote, beating the competition with over 2 million votes.
He celebrated his departure from Blackpool Airport by dressing up as a fabulous air stewardess, joined by fellow drag queens Lee Sanderson and Kenny Moore. After the fun of the flight, Paul and 100 of his friends and family relaxed at the H10 Lanzarote Princess before continuing the party at The Music Hall Tavern club. There, guests were treated to a show-stopping performance to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and Trinity Hospice.
Paul said: “Thanks to Jet2.com, not only did my dream of having my own private plane come true but its competition also helped me raise over £11,000 for two charities very close to my heart. I can’t thank them enough. This has been an unforgettable experience that I’ve been lucky enough to share with my close friends and family.”
Steve Heapy, Jet2.com Chief Executive said: “We’re thrilled to see Paul’s Party Plane take off in true style! Paul is a very worthy winner and we had a great time making his VIP party extra special for him. We can’t think of a better way to kick start our brand new route from Blackpool to Lanzarote, which with its year round warmth, is already proving popular with our loyal customers.”
