- Awards success for the North’s leisure airline

Leading leisure airline, Jet2.com, was last night named ‘Best Airline for Groups’ at the Group Leisure Awards 2012.

Previously a runner-up in the category, Jet2.com has staved off stiff competition from well-known rival brands including Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, Emirates, Flybe and Singapore Airlines. The category rewards airlines offering the best service to groups – from schools and sports clubs, to hen and stag parties. The awards are voted for by over 10,000 readers of the Group Travel Organiser Magazine with winners announced at the NEC’s Hilton Metropole Hotel.

Jet2.com has reported a 35% increase in group bookings for 2012 with favoured destinations including Spanish hotspots: Palma, Ibiza and Benidorm. The airline’s specially tailored service for groups of 10 or more includes a low deposit of just £30 per passenger, balance payment due only ten weeks before travel, free name changes up to two weeks prior to departure and free allocated seating to ensure everyone gets seated together.
