Announcements

On Sunday 18th November the Leeds Abbey Dash will take place with Yorkshire’s favourite airline, Jet2.com proudly sponsoring the event.

A 20 strong team from Jet2.com will be taking part to raise funds and well needed awareness for Age UK. Training sessions have been taking place at Leeds Bradford Airport for the last month with runners fitting in as much last minute preparation as possible!

Officially voted as one of the top ten 10k races by Runner's World, the Abbey Dash is an extremely popular course. Starting from outside the Town Hall runners are taken up to Kirkstall Abbey and back. Participants are to enjoy a picturesque, flat course – ideal for both those who are attempting their very first 10km run, and elite/seasoned runners, aiming to beat a personal best time.

Jet2.com has recruited a number of employees from cabin crew and office staff to the managing director of the airline, Ian Doubtfire and Finance Director, Andrew Merrick. A number of staff are swapping their wings for trainers this weekend when they take part in the region’s 28th consecutive Abbey Dash.

9,000 runners will be taking part on Sunday making this year's Dash the biggest in history. The race starts with the juniors race and then the official race at 09:30am. Make sure you come down to Leeds Town Hall to cheer on the runners for a well deserved cause!
