Lineker’s, a popular night spot in Ibiza, has gained the record for receiving the highest bar tab in 25 years. Mario Balotelli and friends were partying while on holiday in the Balearics, following the Euro 2012 goal scoring efforts of the Italian footballer. Lineker’s is a popular night spot for travellers taking holidays to the Balearics, with the original bar being opened in Tenerife in 1988.
The concept of a sports bar combined with a music bar was the idea of Wayne Lineker, the brother of ex-footballer and pundit Gary. Magaluf, Puerto Rico and Benidorm also boast Lineker bars, as well as other holiday resorts.
A Popular Spot for Holidaymakers
Balotelli spent more than £4,000 in one evening, reportedly also hiring the ‘Owner’s Bed’, an exclusive VIP area with a minimum spend of £3,900, where up to 20 guests can party. Wayne Lineker allegedly reported that the Italian footballer had never heard of his brother Gary Lineker, who used to play for Barcelona, Tottenham and Everton. Gary now appears regularly on Match of the Day, aired on the BBC each week.
Balotelli, who plays for Manchester City, has been seen with Vanessa Lawrens, a French model. Lineker’s is among the night spots which attract travellers who love holidays to the Balearics, drawn by the party atmosphere and relaxing beaches, suitable for families and people of all ages. The Balearics is also known for good value holidays, that companies like Jet2.com provide, with excellent discounts and bargain offers.
