Electric mobility device details

Please note: If your device exceeds 200kg in weight, we require further information as to whether the device can be taken down into different parts to reduce the weight for handling purposes. We will discuss this when we call you back following the submission of this form.

Battery information

If you are unsure of the battery type, please refer to your operator’s manual or contact the manufacturer as we are unable to carry your device without this information.

Battery type instructions

Lithium Batteries (including e-motion wheels)

If the battery is not designed to be removed on your electric mobility device, there is no maximum watt hour rating. Should your device have removable batteries, they must be carried with you in the cabin and not exceed the below Wh rating limits:

1. A singular battery must not exceed 300Wh

2. For two batteries, they must not exceed 160Wh each

Spare lithium batteries may also be carried, providing they do not exceed the above stated limitations – these must also be carried with you in the cabin. Any batteries carried with you in the cabin must be stored securely and protected against short circuit

- For non-spillable, nickel-metal hydride and dry batteries, all removed and spare batteries must be packed in a strong and rigid packaging.

- For spillable batteries, the mobility aid must always be kept upright, or if this is not possible, the battery must be removed from the mobility aid.

- For lithium ion batteries, the number and Watt-hour rating of installed and spare battery(ies) are required where the mobility aid is specifically designed for the battery to be removed during transport.

If tools are required to remove the battery please ensure you bring the airport with your Electric Mobility Device.

If the device battery cannot be removed or isolated (made safe for air travel), you will be required to bring an Airsafe plug that can be used to isolate the battery cables.

If you are unsure then this can be calculated by multiplying the battery Voltage by the AH rating, I.E. 12 Volts x 7.2 AH = 86.4 Watt Hours

Measurements
