Muttereralm ski resort

High above the rooftops of Innsbruck, hidden in the forested slopes between Mutters and Götzens, lies Muttereralm. If you’re after a ski break that blends ease, charm and a touch of adventure – this is a resort that delivers. Think wide, friendly runs for first-timers and winter fun that includes sledging, snow-shoeing or just relaxing on a sun-drenched terrace. In total, you’ll find around 16km of groomed pistes, spanning altitudes from 950m up to 1800m. It’s a fab option for families, thanks to the Kinderland area, complete with thrilling toboggan runs. If you’re new to skiing, this a dreamy place to start. There’s over 6km of blue slopes, including wide, gentle valley runs and dedicated beginner zones. So, you’ll have the space to practise your turns, build confidence and learn at your own pace. The dedicated beginner area, accessed by a magic carpet right at the top-station of the main gondola, is ideal. Once you’ve mastered the basics, head for the Götzens Run, a tree-lined red piste that winds through woodland. For piste pros looking to test their mettle, there’s a black-rated slope served by the Pfriemesköpfl chairlift. On certain days, the slopes are open for ski touring too.
