Winning gold

Starting out? Get going on the green runs and quickly progress to the reds, blues and daring blacks. Val d’Isère gets a gold medal for amazing slopes – some were even set up especially for the Olympics and World Cup! The Bellevarde Face is a wild black run designed for the 1992 games. The Espace Killy area is huge, too, offering even more acres to avid skiers.

It’s showtime

If you’re a keen snowboarder, get your kicks in the Oakley ValPark. There are half-pipes and quarter-pipes, with huge moguls and tricky couloirs. Big air is totally guaranteed here – it’s a nerve-shredding playground for freestylers!

More in the moonlight

You won’t go without entertainment off the slopes either. If your stomachs rumble mid-ski, grab a quick lunchtime bite in the North-American food joint up by the new gondola. But the chic vibe of Val d’Isère really snaps into action as the sun goes down. Among the restaurants, there are French bistros and traditional pizzerias, as well as pubs and clubs keeping the night young. Check out the concerts at the church and awesome winter festivals.
