On 18th August, Dubrovnik airport welcomed its one millionth visitor of the year as Alexandra Sandimirova arrived from Moscow. The privileged passenger was greeted by members of the press and presented with gifts from airport representatives.
This milestone for the airport was reached several days ahead of last year, indicating the growing interest in flights to the Croatian city.
This comes on the heels of the news that popular review website TripAdvisor and their sister site Flipkey.com included Dubrovnik as a top destination for autumn travel. Dubrovnik was chosen owing to its high temperatures, its selection of seasonal activities and of course, its picturesque beauty.
Fabulous Architecture
Located on the warm waters of Adriatic Sea, Dubrovnik is situated in the Dalmatia region of Croatia in the south of the country and enjoys favourable weather of around 19˚C during September.
The city is famed for its fabulous architecture and it’s brimming with many of the best luxury hotels in Croatia.
It comes as no surprise then that Microsoft co-founder and chairman, Bill Gates has reportedly been spending his holidays in Dubrovnik this year.
This autumn, visitors can enjoy the Dubrovnik International Early Music Festival which extends throughout September to October.
