Holiday celebrations started early for Jet2.com’s first ever passengers to Pula, Croatia, from Newcastle International Airport on 2nd July, as the leading leisure airline gave passengers a unique taste of the Adriatic gem with a limited edition Croatian inspired beer.

‘Jet Brew’, the ‘Newcastle meets Croatia’ beer was created by Jet2.com in conjunction with Tyne Bank Brewery and has been developed to reflect the finest brewing traditions of both Newcastle and Croatia. The result is a summery, light beer, which has a special blend of malts to create a red hue to complement Jet2.com’s distinct red logo!
Steve Heapy, Chief Executive Officer of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “We are delighted to give our Pula passengers a sample of Jet Brew, our specially created Croatian inspired beer, as they take off on our first flight from the region.
“With its breath-taking scenery and wealth of culture to explore, Pula is our second Croatian destination available from Newcastle. This stunning city is proving to be extremely popular and we remain committed to giving our loyal customers in the North East even more choice and flexibility when it comes to selecting their holiday.”
Laura Halliday, aviation sales executive at Newcastle International Airport, said: “Pula is an exciting Mediterranean hotspot – it’s a historic destination which will attract both sun seekers and those wanting a cultural break. We’re pleased the first flight has been so popular with north east holiday makers and look forward to a very busy summer.”
In addition, ‘Pula Pint Week’ (1-8th July 2013), will see several Newcastle pubs selling Jet Brew on tap to help locals sample the Croatian favourite. Patrons will also have the chance to win a pair of Jet2.com return flights to Pula, with four runners up winning a complimentary tour of Tyne Bank Brewery and their very own case of Jet Brew to take home.
Julia Austin, Director at Tyne Bank Brewery, commented: 'We are extremely excited to launch both Jet Brew and Pula Pint week. Newcastle’s dark ale tradition is in direct contrast to Pula’s light lager, so developing a recipe that blends the characteristics of the two destinations was a real challenge but one I’m confident we have pulled off.”
