Waterfront city

Bourgas is based around the waterfront on both sides of the city. It overlooks a bay on the Black Sea, while it’s also surrounded by Lake Bourgas (the largest natural lake in Bulgaria) and Lake Mandrensko. It means you’ll have a beautiful view whichever way you look, especially as the wetlands are known for their diverse wildlife, including many birds and fish.

The sunny side of Bulgaria

Sunny Beach is by far the most popular resort on the Black Sea coastline of Bulgaria, and it’s only around half an hour’s drive from Bourgas. Many holidaymakers love the resort for its great-value bars and clubs, lively nightlife and long Blue Flag beach. There’s even a historic city, Nessebar, just south of Sunny Beach, that’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site with beautiful churches and ancient ruins.
