Lech ski resort
Wrapped in the picturesque peaks of the Arlberg range, Lech’s world-class terrain and five-star hospitality has made it a favourite of seasoned skiers and first-timers alike. For beginners, Lech offers gentle slopes that encourage confidence from the very first turn. The areas around Oberlech and the Schlegelkopf are ideal for newcomers too, featuring wide pistes and plenty of space to practise. Intermediates will find themselves spoilt for choice. Lech’s extensive network of reds means skiers can cover huge distances. The famed White Ring circuit, weaving between Lech, Zürs, Zug and Oberlech is also a must-do! Modern lifts minimise waiting time, while well-connected pistes ensure you can maximise your time on the mountain.
Feeling peckish? Lunch spots range from refined mountain restaurants to rustic huts serving hearty favourites like Kässpätzle and Tiroler Gröstl. Après-ski’s also a refined affair around these parts. Think sun terraces with blankets and champagne, cosy bars with crackling fires and elegant wine lounges. Places like the Schneggarei and the Ice Bar are top picks. There’s also lots for non-skiers to get stuck into. Winter hiking and snowshoe trails connect the village with Oberlech’s sunny plateau, horse-drawn sleigh rides provide a magical way to experience the valley and the village itself is dotted with boutique shops, art galleries and spa hotels with outstanding wellness facilities.
The location
Lech sits in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg, nestled at 1,450m in one of the snowiest regions of the Alps. This position gifts the village reliable winter conditions and access to the vast Ski Arlberg network, Austria’s largest interconnected ski area. From Lech, you can explore Zürs, St Anton, St Christoph, Warth and Schröcken, covering enormous terrain without ever taking off your skis. The village itself is picture-perfect, full of traditional chalets. And the best bit? It’s only 90 minutes from Innsbruck Airport, so you can go from plane to piste in no time at all!

Parents appreciate the easy navigation of the resort, where meeting points, lifts and pistes are all conveniently linked. Off the slopes, families can enjoy winter walks, sleigh rides and cosy cafés too.
Après-ski activities
Apres-ski has a luxury feel here. Instead of buzzing clubs, you’ll find stylish terraces, chic bars and fireside lounges offering fine wines, cocktails and expertly crafted hot drinks. The iconic Schneggarei serves as a lively yet sophisticated hub, while Oberlech’s sun decks provide a more serene end-of-day glow with stunning views.
